Horace Panter is the bassist and founding member of the seminal British ska band The Specials. Although most of his career has been defined by music, Panter graduated in 1975 with a degree in Fine Art from Lanchester Polytechnic — where he first met Jerry Dammers and the idea for a punk/ska band materialized, together forming The Specials. Panter has been a professional artist since 2010 and has exhibited throughout the UK, Los Angeles and New York. His work is based on traditional forms of iconography and Americana fused with the sensibilities of British Pop Art.
