Rorro Berjano is an artist who has always opened new lines about the initiatory experiences that kept him in touch, from the plastic and object possibilities, with the Afro-Cuban ancestral culture and with the social atmosphere he observed in his progressive approach to religious syncretism and idiosyncrasy Caribbean.
A particular approach that is nourished by numerous elements that coincide in stating, firmly, a high and transcendental positioning around different formal precedents such as street art, contemporary popular culture and primitivist aesthetics, filtered by the juxtaposition of ideas and records Pictorial close to the current collective imagination.
His creative commitment, categorically, manifests a hypernarramatic palimpsest of coherence and phenomenological determination of folklore, as well as the risks that bring them closer to the anthropological poetics of knowledge.
Rorro Berjano's work has been contextualized by everyone, through Gráfika - with the kindness of the Cervantes Institute in Beirut, Amman, Bordeaux or Toulouse, Algiers and Sofia - for example. Or participating in numerous collectives, also outside our borders, as in San Diego in California or Berlin in Germany. He is a founding member of the project La Nave Spacial, where he developed his last solo called 'New Gods, New Retables' and his work is present in collections such as Focus-Abengoa Foundation, Taiwan ATHIC or Group Lush. He has received numerous mentions and scholarships, and his work has been represented at fairs such as: KIAF in Seoul, ARCO in Madrid, Cige in Beijing, Forosur in Cáceres.
