Atle Østrem is a 33 year old artist from Stavanger, Norway. He has been painting graffiti since the mid 90s, and has been doing artwork on canvas since 2000.
Atle is very fascinated by the contrast between ugliness and beauty, and likes to explore and work in the “beauglyful” zone that takes place when you combine the two. This theme is somewhat of a red line in most of his work.
He mostly paints figurative faces and letters. The titles of the works are usually painted on the canvases as part of the visual expression, to start a dialogue with the viewer.
Atle Østrem does not consider himself a street artist, nor a fine artist, but something in between. Something beauglyful.
