Daniel Gordon's solo exhibition Hand, Select & Invert Layer opens this Thursday at Bolte Lang in Zurich. Gordon's body of work is a mesmerizing blend of installation, collage, and set photography. Referring to his large color photographs as "ground up, blended imagery" that "optimistically appropriates" its origins, Gordon's process results in energetic, charged compositions which blur the lines between mediums. In Avocados and Eggs, Gordon lends his intensive process to a traditional still life, injecting cerulean in place of the fruit's natural hues and rupturing reality with torn edges and cubist perspective on oval forms.
