Skateboarding was a major event in my life, especially early on. I got my first board when I was an eight year old living in Fullerton, CA, that would have been around 1983. It was a wood deck with navy blue racing stripes, wider than the plastic decks of the time, and it had wide red wheels. Our neighbor owned a skate shop in town so my brother and I got hooked up! Once I learned to ride standing up, I never looked back and skated every day I could. In the 60's my dad rode homemade skateboards- planks of wood nailed to trucks with metal rollerskate wheels. Skateboarding was in my blood I guess!
