Stanley Donwood's 'The Hartmann Portfolio' is a boxed set of 6 linocut prints and a covering note (set in letterpress) on Fabriano paper. Stanley was commissioned by Ian Bone (the founder of Class War) to illustrate the republished 1893 novel 'Hartmann The Anarchist', and did so by utilising his 'London Views' style to depict various scenes of chaos in the Capital. The edition runs to only 23 sets and is priced at £230, due entirely to Donwood's interest in enigmatic numerological characteristics.
