Liz Markus paints in series, allowing intuition and collectively gathered cultural influences to guide her process. Images are relayed to canvas through bold and colorful washes of acrylic paint, resulting in forms that are familiar yet liberated in their rawness. Simultaneously liquid and solid, subversive and reverent, Markus playfully explores the visceral undertones of American subculture. We are proud to present T-Rex with Aura, a hand-embellished series featuring three distinct images from Markus' ongoing exploration of the iconic mass-produced T-Rex costume.
