This is a screen printed interpretation of a large painting made to accompany the Radiohead LP 'Hail To The Thief'; part of a series of works based on rough maps of cities that featured, one way or another, in 'The War Against Terror' which was launched to mark the start of the new 21st century in an appropriately military fashion. Baghdad, of course, was subjected to an operation that would 'shock and awe' the city, which it doubtless did, along with killing, mutilating and psychologically maiming millions of people and laying the foundations for the emergence of ISIS.
