Time passes in its inimitable and relentless fashion; leaves fall, light fades and life hides away in dark places; gloom pervades and everything seems drab, listless and drear. But slowly the first green tips of the earliest flowers rise up, piercing the dark sodden earth, and there is at last the chance of a sort of hope.
This picture is of that vagueness of possibility. It's called 'Early Light'.
For those interested in pencils, it was drawn with German 8B pencils made by Faber Castell and also Swiss water-soluble 'Aquarelle' pencils made by Caran D'Ache. For UK-based pencil aficionados there is a pencil museum in the Lake District but I haven't been there.
