Yonen is the first object from a new imprint called Lamina (@studiolamina) representing the decades-long collaboration between artist James Jean and master printmaker Brad Keech. After several years of experimentation and hundreds of hours of prototyping, Yonen represents a new category among the multifarious editions produced by Jean and Keech. This "multiplane" print edition is housed in a hand-built frame that contains ten separate images printed on clear acrylic layers that combine together to create a three-dimensional tableau that is viewable from both sides. Clear gloss rain accentuates the parallax between layers. Brass embellishments are embedded in the frame, and as the eyes move across the composition, details are revealed between each layer.
