David Shrigley's drawings remind us of the strangenesses of our world with concise and often surprising bluntness. They also offer up a mirror for the viewer's mind, as our interpretations of his work may reveal more about ourselves than the artist. This is particularly true in the case of "Untitled," wherein the signpost in blankly states "This will not be here tomorrow." Is this as a positive reminder (carpe diem) or a melancholic reflection? Or should we read in this an environmental commentary, a sardonic remark on the art market, or a larger existential concern? Each 'Untitled' is hand-drawn by the artist and therefore will have slight variations.
