Choosing to follow his innate spirit over a career in law or medicine, Solomon enrolled at the College for Creative Studies in Midtown to pursue an illustration degree. As he toiled at his classwork, he augmented his formal-education painting in a less structured environment as well.
“I got a two-sided education. I got the Midtown life, but I was also hanging out over by city airport and over at Fenkell and Dexter,” Solomon says.
