Alex Da Corte's date paintings are a series of photos made with objects collected on the day the painting is named after—in this case, Halloween 2006. The objects—an egg, a straw, a dollar bill—were collected, dreamed of, or experienced on that date. For Da Corte, "They offer wetness, desire, heat, and touch without giving much access at all. Like an Abercrombie and Fitch catalog."
