"I love doing imagery that explores the use, political polarization, fetishization, and misuse of guns, especially in a way with humor and satire. This piece began in 2014 as a sculpture and then was created as a graphic in 2015. It was originally a three dimensional sculpture called ICED for my Guns and Ecstasy show at Hashimoto Contemporary gallery in San Francisco. It had a quality that needed to be further investigated, possibly the cold icy hand it was pried from. For the original piece I used an airsoft uzi and my secret fake frosting recipe.
The graphic for this piece was hand inked on film, old school style.Doing the ink took about a day. I haven't done any graphic work in a while so I had to dig out my brushes and film ink to get this thing done. No computers were involved in creating the art." - Scott Hove
