Hayal Pozanti currently has a solo exhibition, Deep Learning, on view at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum until April 2016. Like ONE HUNDRED (billions of neurons in the brain and stars in the Milky Way), all the paintings in the exhibition rely on 'Instant Paradise': an alphabet invented by the artist as a personally standardized encryption system. Each shape translates to letters that spell out numbers representing bundles of mined data concerned with the impact of technological developments on human lives. In this particular work, Pozanti explores the cognitive and physiological differences between the human mind and artificial intelligence by celebrating our capabilities and characteristics, such as the amount of neurons in the brain, as global commonalities.
