Xenz is the only street artist embraced by the graffiti community and posey interior design mags. His fantastical interpretations of the natural world are popular across demographics and generations. He drew these new etchings on treated copper plates using etching tools and styluses: our Execution Dock team printed the edition using an Intaglio press in the traditional style.
Three Fighting Hummingbirds (hummingbirds are unusually violent and oversexed creatures) is inspired by Xenz's latest exhibition, The Charm of Hummingbirds. Embellished with extensive hand painting by the artist himself, the alternative etching Spatuletail features the Peruvian bird of the same name. The males' tails grow in distinctive long paddle-ended shapes, which each can move independently. Needless to say they are used to attract females, bringing a new meaning to "come up and see my etchings".
