We first noticed his practice of using DVD stickers to collage during Salon 94 Bowery's t-shirt painting show two summers ago and then again last year in East Hampton for "Covering Pollock". By inviting some measure of miscommunication -- let's face it, there is never an actual digital video disc present -- Richard Prince gives new meaning to the term mixed media. This series of vintage pin-ups partially redacted by pop culture signage also dovetails with Prince's famous publicity pictures. Think of it as censorship by overstimulation....at least we do.
