Jordan Wolfson, perhaps best known for his animatronic sculptures, works across video, installation, photography and performance. Layering references pulled from advertising, documentary and music videos, the artist creates narratives that probe how information is transmitted to -- and absorbed into -- the populous' collective psyche, underscoring distortions between reality and artificiality.
This edition depicts an image of JFK Jr. whose image Wolfson has been working with over the past year. While open to interpretation, these images are regarded as somewhat auto-biographical, the artist sees aspects of himself in JFK Jr., the son of President John F. Kennedy. These images of JFK Jr. also interrogate the present historical moment in the United States, as spectral images addressing the zeitgeist of a previous era.
