Allegorical Nude (2019) comes from a series of oil paintings that were on view at JTT Gallery in New York City in a solo exhibition that featured imagined bathers. As is common to this body of work, a woman poses within a flattened landscape. She is covered in a field of color, representing both a body of water as well as a swath of blue fabric. Both clothed and nude, and in contrast to many historical bather subjects, she gazes out of the picture plane directly at her observer.
