A b-boy holds his form forever in a bronze sculpture by Taku Obata.
With his dynamic sculptures, Taku Obata demonstrates an understanding of the human body as a finely-balanced instrument. B BOY SEIDOU transforms the interlocking planes of one of his chiselled wooden dancers into painted bronze (seidou) – monochromatic, to emphasise the rakish angles and parallel planes within his pose. The b-boy's oversized hat, balanced precariously on his head, and futuristic visor, extending far beyond his face, are both recurring motifs in Taku's sketches and sculptures.
