Maurizio Cattelan unveils a rare, hand-painted sculpture edition of an iconic self-portrait.
We Are the Revolution (Gold Rush) reimagines our previous We Are the Revolution collaboration as a demonic special edition of just 14. For this gold version, the artist has personally painted the eyes in red on each, making this satirical self-portrait paradoxically intimate.
This special edition is also distinguished by its presentation: each sculpture comes encased in a bespoke, coffin-like box, lined in fabric and finished with gold-painted detailing. The box becomes a theatrical stage for the work, amplifying the artist's signature dark humour.
