Translating 12 original paintings by the artist, the series depicts a day in the life of an icebreaker ship, circling endlessly through a frozen polar landscape. The icebreaker moves counterclockwise, representing a 12-hour countdown. Each print represents a different hour of the day, as the vessel traces its path like a hand on an imaginary clock.
This 28-colour silkscreen features a hand-finished beam of light from the ship's bow – applied in Pejac's studio in Madrid to each individual print using spray and stencil techniques. The team at Make-Ready, our specialist fine art print studio in London, have translated the artist's original works to a result the artist described as the "highest possible level of fidelity and detail, achieved thanks to the exceptional technical work, meticulous adjustments and absolute precision at every stage."
