An unexpected, never-before-seen colour photograph from 1979 is now revealed as a new limited edition print by Cindy Sherman.
Untitled was shot on a roll of colour film Cindy mistakenly loaded while making Untitled Film Stills – her historic series of black-and-white photographs in which she poses as various female characters, evoking stereotypical roles from 1950s and '60s Hollywood, film noir, and European art-house cinema.
47 years later, the image has been released in support of MoMA PS1's 50th anniversary, offering collectors a rare colour work from Cindy's personal archive and a unique piece of photographic history.
