Giuseppe Penone transforms an early performance work into My Future Vision II, the second of two limited edition prints.
In 1970, Penone wore mirrored contact lenses that rendered him temporarily blind and had himself photographed. The resulting work, Rovesciare i propri occhi (Reversing One's Eyes), explores blindness, myth, and the power and purpose of documentation.
This limited edition print is a photograph from the performance, each piece is signed and hand-titled by the artist.
"The act of creation emerges from a state of wonder, born from the observation of a material or the manner in which it responds to specific conditions." – Guiseppe Penone in conversation with Alain Elkann
