Influenced by artists like Jeff Koons, Barbara Kruger, Richard Prince and Robert Longo, artist Andy Wauman uncovers meaning in the mundane and reinterprets things that people take for granted. Rather than pursuing originality, he points to the trivial by enlarging a Winchester .45 Colt Bullet Head. 'The Golden Bullet Takes A Million Years To Hit' was the title of Wauman's solo exhibition that took place at Deweer Gallery in Belgium in 2012. Based on a large sculpture in the exhibition, this print edition exemplifies Wauman's flirtation with superficiality of contemporary urban culture. As Gerrit Vermeiren put it, "His art is about the underlying rhythm and anatomy of the urban context – its heartbeat – in a maelstrom of visual, graphic and linguistic elements. With a certain sense of drama and the romantic, Wauman places the chaos of contemporary signals and eroded signifiers into an almost apocalyptic perspective."
