Golden Solstice Avenue
£250.00
Each year the Slowly Downward Manufactory purchases an amount of powdered 23.5ct gold to turn into a printed mist.
This year I've drawn an avenue; a golden, solstice avenue.
The print is made up of alternating layers of powdered gold and as the avenue appears to recede the gold mist becomes more dense.
The prints are a very limited edition of 24, to reflect the purity of the gold.
(We looked into making an edition of 23.5, but reality prevented this...)
The paper is 250gsm Somerset Velvet white stock from St Cuthbert’s Mill in Wells, Somerset, England and the gold used is 23.5 carat powdered gold from L. Cornelisson & Son of London.
It is sized approximately 145mm x 115mm, and the paper is hand-torn to approximately 260mm x 200mm.
The print will be delivered flat-packed between plywood boards which measure approximately 30cm x 40cm.
