Heidi Taillefer on Govinda And The Heiffer Nymph
The painting Govinda And The Heiffer Nymph is a hommage to Krishna, avatar of Vishnu who is the ultimate god of the life essence that pervades all things. The holy cow is walking placidly through a Jain temple and is made up of offerings to the heavens. The blue color is representative of Krishna ( also known as Govinda), and the arms are in reference to the many girlfriends which surrounded him in his incarnation as cowheard. After recovering from a serious arm break in India, the painting is a show of gratitude, as well as a celebration and recognition of the true meaning of the events which occur throughout life.
