Welsh illustrator Blood Sausage has won a bunch of awards (British Arrows, Jerwood) for his tipsy humour and mostly offensive doddles. ‘The Blessed Verging’ is his homage to Shakespearean actor Brian Blessed stealing the show as Prince Vultan in Dino De Laurentiis’ 1980 sci-fi classic 'Flash Gordon'.
