ARTWORK DESCRIPTION/STATEMENT:
I want to give my collectors the opportunity to own a piece of my original art. The giclee format allows me the ability to make my detailed paintings accessible through this fine art reproduction that captures the colors and nuances of the original art piece. This particular scene of Downtown LA off the 101- 110 interchange freeways was my backyard and personal landscape I would see for over ten years living in Echopark.
Downtown Los Angeles is about speed, movement, history and the contrast of light and dark. High rises, palm trees and new development lure the hope and promise of the future while still hinting towards the anxiety of the dangers hidden within the shadows. As times grinds forward night becomes shield for allusive activities that appear in plein-view at sunrise.
