Currently featured in the two-person exhibition, Muse, with Slawomir Eisner at CCA Andratx in Spain, Bernhard Brungs has exhibited extensively internationally, including solo exhibitions at Produzentengalerie in Hamburg, Galerie Haas AG, in Zurich, and Tomio Koyama Gallery in Tokyo. His portraits of cultural and intellectual icons focus on the “details, with the overall shape emerging slowly and unexpectedly.” The artist’s many muses include not only Susan Sontag, but also Virginia Woolf, Jean Genet, and currently, Yves Saint Laurent. Bernhard Brungs was born in 1974 in Bielefeld, Germany. He now lives and works in Berlin.
