Ronin is a signed and numbered limited edition of giclée prints available starting at 10 AM PDT on Tuesday, July 16th.
Ronin meaning 'wave man' refers to the masterless lone samurai during feudal Japan. At the end of the Edo period the warrior culture that built a nation changed into a society of consumers and technology. Swords were banned, bushido code outlawed and the samurai were declared rebels of the empire. For these Ronin the true way of the warrior transcended blind military nationalism. It meant to live and die by principles aligned with Nature to cultivate inner potential through physical, mental and spiritual self discipline. Inspired by the sculpture of Kusunoki Masashige and the life of Miyamoto Musashi, this print is produced on special museum etching paper which retains the depth of the original painting and includes a custom gold embossment of a resurrected Samurai.
